Melody match

Copy the shape of each phrase: rises, falls and lifts.

How to do it
  1. Read the phrase and follow its shape: up for a rise, down for a fall.
  2. Say it naturally, as if talking to a friend.
  3. Pause after each one. There are 5.

What it should feel like: Pitch moving with the meaning, not forced.

Why this helps

Melody works like a dial: more lift and fall tends to read as more feminine, and steadier phrases as more masculine (ASHA; Papeleu et al. 2025). Practising both gives you control.
